19 out of 20 crashes are influenced by attitude and behaviour rather than lack of vehicle handling skills. The B²BTEC addresses the importance of integrating the right attitude with car control skills.
Research over the last two decades has shown that driving is a safety critical skill that depends on three interacting elements. First, the road and traffic environment; second, the vehicle being driven; and third, and most important, driver competence.
The B²BTEC in Driving Science has been designed to teach drivers essential scientifically-based concepts covering all these elements. Topics include the physics of crash impact, the fundamentals of fuel efficient driving and how driver behaviour influences the probability of being involved in a crash.
This B²BTEC in Driving Science course will produce a more fully-informed and competent driver with a full appreciation of the factors that influence safety.
The a²om B²BTEC in Driving Science is the only driver education system in the UK to incorporate the European Goals for Driving Education Matrix (GDE).
The GDE is a comprehensive driver competency framework, which places emphasis on coaching the behaviour of the client and in turn increasing their self-awareness.

Delivery is a combination of on-line home study and practical driving sessions.
The in-car sessions are supported by state of the art e-learning a²om highway and a²om mind. Access to the e learning can be given at any stage.
